Update on Outdoor Summer Pools and CBay Aquatics Open Hours.

As you may know, throughout the country swimming pools are facing challenges in recruiting enough lifeguards to keep pools running safely.

We worked hard last year to put together an awesome team of university student lifeguards to ensure all our pools can over the peak summer months, and while they are here we are able to keep our summer pools operating at peak open hours for an additional two weeks.

This means peak summer hours for CBay 50m, Temuka, and Geraldine will run through until Sunday 12 February 2023, Pleasant Point will run through until Thursday 9 February 2023.

With both university and school students returning to their studies, and despite our best efforts to recruit more lifeguards, we will not have enough to offer the same level of service for the remainder of the summer season.

Safety is our number one priority at CBay, so we have to make the tough decision to scale back services to match our available staffing levels. The changes we made were based on usage data to try and minimise disruption for the majority of people.

Pleasant Point Pool is closed for the Summer Season

From Monday 13 February 2023

Temuka Pool - Open Friday to Monday 10am-6pm,
Closed Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Geraldine, CBay Aquatics and the CBay 50M pool will operate reduced hours.

We’ll be getting in touch with regular users and school groups to help them access alternative options to cover the closed periods.

There's still a number of weeks left to enjoy swimming at your summer pools. Open hours are subject to lifeguard availability and the weather. To avoid disappointment we suggest you check the CBay Facebook page for updates or call the customer service team on 036842229 before you head to your local summer pool.
